Yayasan BaKTI berdiri tahun 2004 sebagai bagian dari unit pertukaran pengetahuan dari program multi donor. Pada tanggal 24 Agustus2009, untuk memperkuat kepemilikan lokal dan fungsi keberlanjutan, BaKTI resmi menjadi Yayasan dibawah payung hukum Republik Indonesia.
Yayasan BaKTI (Bursa Pengetahuan Kawasan Timur Indonesia) adalah organisasi yang mengumpulkan dan menyebarkan informasi tentang program pembangunan di Kawasan Timur Indonesia (KTI). Wilayah kerja BaKTI meliputi 12 Provinsi di wilayah Maluku, Nusa Tenggara, Papua, dan Sulawesi.
